What is a cyanotype:
A cyanotype is an image printing process that creates a cyan-blue image. Cyanotypes never really took place in main stream photography and was used as a copying device and also called blue prints.
How are cyanotypes made:
A cyanotype is a photograph made using two chemicals, potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate(green) which are both mixed in a solution. A canvas or paper is then coated with this solution and then the object or negative is placed on it. The image is printed using UV light from the sun or UV lights. Afterwards its rinsed in water where a white image emerges and the process is complete.
