A pin hole camera uses a simple blacked out container and a small hole (aperture) where light gets through and is absorbed by a film or light sensitive paper to get photographs.
My design: |
Testing the camera: |
I am going to make a cylinder pin hole camera out of a mini pringles can.
I will need the following equipment: -A mini pringles can -A pin/needle -Black spray paint or paper -Light sensitive paper -Regular paper -Tape -Scissors |
To test my camera I will take photographs at different lengths and angles. I will also find the best amount of time to expose the paper to light. Finally I will find out how much light gives the best photographs.
Once these experiments are complete I could work out the best settings and techniques for a good photograph. |
Step-by-step Making of a pin hole camera:
1. Collect your equipment for the camera
2. Spray paint/colour your container black
3. Once its dry, get your pin/needle and gently poke a small hole in the container (just the head of the pin should go through)
4. Create a flap on top of the hole to stop light getting in by tapping a small sheet of paper on top of the hole.
5. Make sure no light gets in yet.
6. Place your film in the container facing the hole
7. To take a picture remove the flap and expose the film to the light for a little while before closing it again for about 60 seconds.
8. Go into the dark room and remove your film, place it in the three chemicals. The developer, stopper and corrector to get the image.
