Task 1:
Our task was to learn about edges and borders in photographs then make our own photographs with these techniques and shapes. Frames are used in photography to show were images start, stop and they can also change how much of the image we see. These are some of my images. I was particularly intrigued in capturing different and modern angles which are interesting for people to observe and try to figure out what the whole object in the image is.
WWW:-I am pleased with the finished photographs and how they look. I managed to really get different angles and ways to capture edges.
|
EBI:-I could have taken more photographs and went outside of the room to expand and add variety to all of the images.

Task: 2
Our task was to capture ten photographs of edges that include the following features:
-line
-shape -form -texture -pattern |
-colour
-space -composition -framing -angles |
WWW:I think that I got some good photographs that included contrast, angles and space.

Evaluation:
I found the task good but it was tricky to include the keywords in the image. Most of my images are outside as I found many edges in the architecture of the building. However the scale and angles of the building were hard to capture since its very large. Images indoors like the first image were easy to capture as they were smaller and I could get lots of detailed angles.
10 of my own images: Home learning
These are ten images I had taken outside of school which included some of the key features:
Evaluation:
In this task we took images with a theme that was related to edges. My theme was architecture and man made things. My best images were outside and I think the images inside weren't as effective because of the lighting in the rooms. The natural lighting outside created contrasts with the buildings. I think I could have improved the 7th image (a bunch of books) since it was out of focus and i was not happy with the colour of the wall and lighting in the room.
Dolores Marat:
Dolores Marat uses colours and lines to make the images interesting. She usually has a colour choice for each image, for example she use red for the 5th image and green for the 3rd image. The colours are often muted or in an area of low light which does not allow the full saturation of the colours to be let out. The edges in her photographs usually meet at centre to get our attention. In her work there is normally an object or person that contrasts to the background / foreground. The photos could be blurry which often shows that her photos are taken in the 'decisive moment' to make sure that the colours, shapes, lighting or people do not change. There is a lot of negative space in her photos that are mostly just muted colour and these help focus attention and contrast to the main focus.
